*UPDATE!! Well I was a little over ambitious thinking I’d get time to log onto the computer on Christmas Eve wasn’t I! With presents to wrap, Carols to watch and cooking for 18 people for the following day it’s a wonder I remembered to breathe! So here it is Boxing Day and I have found a few minute to pop the names of those who entered the newborn shoot comp into a hat and drawn out three lucky winners.
First from the draw was Angie Hobson, due in March, 2nd name out was Oona Shepherd, due end of January and third name out was Peta Strachan, due Feb. Congratulations to all three ladies and I am so looking forward to meeting your new little bundles soon! I’ll be in touch by email some time in the next week to confirm your prize and jot in some dates!
Every year in December when the shopping stress sets in, I always feel like the world is out of control…caught up in a frenzy of commercial insanity. I hear stories of people taking out loans to pay off last years Christmas presents so they can buy this years, and of driving around shopping centre car parks for 30 minutes hoping for a park. The presents are getting bigger and more extravagant, bringing challenges for lower income parents to explain to their children why they didn’t get such and such for Christmas when all their friends did. Christmas may bring lots of goodwill and cheer with it, but in many ways it’s a stressful time of year that many people wish they could skip.
Amidst all the chaos, the true meaning of Christmas is fast becoming buried under a pile of wrapping paper and Christmas pudding. Christmas has become a commercial monster instead of the simplistic and meaningful celebration it once was. In the yesteryear Christmas gifts were heartfelt and thoughtful, some home made biscuits, a hand-knitted scarf, token gifts given as a reminder of the greatest gift given to this world in the form of a precious baby boy 2000 years ago.
In honour of the birthday of the baby Jesus, the most precious newborn the world has ever known, it gives me great pleasure to give the gift of a newborn photography photo shoot to three precious newborns.
If you are expecting a baby, simply send me an email with your name, phone number, email address and EDD and I shall draw the winners on December 24th 2011. This prize is for a 3 hour Newborn Portrait shoot for a baby under the age of two weeks at the time of photo shoot, valued at $150. If you have been umming and ahhing about whether to book a shoot or not, here’s your chance to save on your session fee and be $150 out in front. Happy Christmas!
