*UPDATE!! Well I was a little over ambitious thinking I’d get time to log onto the computer on Christmas Eve wasn’t I! With presents to wrap, Carols to watch and cooking for 18 people for the following day it’s a wonder I remembered to breathe! So here it is Boxing Day and I have found a few minute to pop the names of those who entered the newborn shoot comp into a hat and drawn out three lucky winners.
First from the draw was Angie Hobson, due in March, 2nd name out was Oona Shepherd, due end of January and third name out was Peta Strachan, due Feb. Congratulations to all three ladies and I am so looking forward to meeting your new little bundles soon! I’ll be in touch by email some time in the next week to confirm your prize and jot in some dates!

Every year in December when the shopping stress sets in, I always feel like the world is out of control…caught up in a frenzy of commercial insanity. I hear stories of people taking out loans to pay off last years Christmas presents so they can buy this years, and of driving around shopping centre car parks for 30 minutes hoping for a park. The presents are getting bigger and more extravagant, bringing challenges for lower income parents to explain to their children why they didn’t get such and such for Christmas when all their  friends did. Christmas may bring lots of goodwill and cheer with it, but in many ways it’s a stressful time of year that many people wish they could skip.
Amidst all the chaos, the true meaning of Christmas is fast becoming buried under a pile of wrapping paper and Christmas pudding.
Christmas has become a commercial monster instead of the simplistic and meaningful celebration it once was. In the yesteryear Christmas gifts were heartfelt and thoughtful, some home made biscuits, a hand-knitted scarf, token gifts given as a reminder of the greatest gift given to this world in the form of a precious baby boy 2000 years ago.
In honour of the birthday of  the baby Jesus, the  most precious newborn the world has ever known, it gives me great pleasure to give the gift of a newborn photography photo shoot to three precious newborns.
If you are expecting a baby, simply send me an email with your name, phone number, email address and EDD and I shall draw the winners on December 24th 2011. This prize is for a 3 hour Newborn Portrait shoot for a baby under the age of two weeks at the time of photo shoot, valued at $150. If you have been umming and ahhing about whether to book a shoot or not, here’s your chance to save on your session fee and be $150 out in front. Happy Christmas!

NB:Prize is for actual session only and does not include any prints or products. Entries must come from expectant parents themselves and not friends or family. Past clients are most welcome to enter!

With a name fit for an English aristocrat, tiny Xavier Holmes is to date the ‘newest’ newborn I have had in the studio at a tender 6 days. When Hayley came for her maternity shoot at 36 weeks, she was having some issues with swelling. As fate would have it, four days later, tiny Xavier made his grand entrance and we were so pleased we hadn’t delayed!
Xavier’s family was beyond thrilled to welcome their new son who is a baby brother for doting 2 year old big sister Olivia. Such a sleepy and relaxed  little guy throughout his first photo shoot, I am told he continues to be the most placid baby you could have. Can’t ask for more than that! Hayley & Damien thank you for bringing your beautiful family to me for your first family portraits as a family of four.  Get ready for sweetness overload…….

After newborn portraits, babies aged 6-8 months are my absolute favourite age to photograph. Usually sitting unaided and with smiles all around…it always a fun session!
Sweet AnaLucia was  7 1/2 months old for her shoot. This little miss is often referred to as my sister Melody’s little ‘Princesa’. She has a barrage of Aunties & Uncles (both surrogate and blood) dotted all over the world and is affectionately nicknamed ‘little Princesa’ by all. I believe Princesa is Spanish for Princess.

My adorable niece is the light of my sister’s life and charms all who meet her within seconds. In all my life I have never encountered such a sweet, content and happy baby. Her smile melts your heart and her long perfectly straight eyelashes defy belief. Love you so much baby girl! See AnaLucia’s newborn photos here.
The first images here have special significance to our family as AnaLucia is wearing a baby bonnet that belonged to her great grandmother Isobel, who sadly passed away in February. She would have been 96 just a few days ago and would have been tickled pink to see these photos.

Tiny newborn Max was only 12 days new when I met him for the first time for his newborn photo shoot. He had is entire entourage in tow; his beautiful mummy Kristy, proud daddy Colin and adoring big sister, Xanthia. This sweet cherub was an absolute star and I’m sure you can see why Max already holds his adoring family like putty in his tiny hands!
Kristy & Colin I loved spending my afternoon with your beautiful family. I hope you enjoy sharing these images with your friends and family.
