After your session is booked in, a personal consultation will be arranged to discuss your shoot. This can be done over a coffee (definitely my 1st choice!)over the phone or via email.

Child and family photoshoots can take place anywhere you choose, your home, farm, local park, beach, almost anywhere. If you don't really have a location in mind, I have some favourite places I love to take people to.

The best time of day for any outdoor photoshoot is the last hour or two of the day, or the first...but most people choose the last! This is when the light is at it's most beautiful, unlike the harsh light of midday.

Family photoshoots take anywhere between 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I never rush a session where children are involved, we just take as long as we need. Many children warm up to the camera very quickly whilst others need a little more time. I take a mixture of posed, semi posed and completely candid images, largely depending on the ages of the children. The younger the child, the more they will direct the shoot. If they are 2 years old, they will direct the entire shoot, and usually loudly! I go with the flow with this age group and you will receive more candid images than posed, guaranteed. Having said that,I do have a few tricks up my sleeve to get the attention of 'challenging' littlies.

I offer studio portrait sessions for newborns and babies under twelve months as well as Elegant Portraiture & Boudoir photoshoots. All other sessions are held ‘on location’. I am happy to travel to your own home for a newborn photoshoot if you live more than 20 minutes drive from Cowes. I understand how difficult it can be to get organised with a very young baby so having me come to you can take the presure off. My travel fees are very reasonable and cover the cost of petrol only. Newborns are best photographed in the first ten days to two weeks after birth.

In late 2010 I introduced an exciting new addition to the studio with Elegant Portraiture & Boudoir, especially for women."Glamour Photography" as it was known, was very popular in the 80's and is making a comeback in a big way.

Gone is the 'Farrah Fawcett' hair, the soft focus and tulle...these shoots are all about celebrating you! Yes, you still get the beautiful makeover and the awesome hair styling, but the customer experience with an Elegant Portraiture & Boudoir photoshoot is so much more. It's about reconnecting with you the woman. As women we tend to spend so much of our lives running around after others...being mum, wife, daughter, sister or friend.....and we don't often have much left to give to ourselves.The glamour parlours of the past tended to be a bit of a production line where you were in and out in 2 hours. An Elegant Portraiture & Boudoir shoot is a full day that is just for you. Only one of these shoots is scheduled each day so from the moment you arrive at the beauty salon to the moment you leave the studio, you will receive the undivided attention of your beautician, stylist and photographer. And when you leave the studio...you'll be looking and feeling like a million dollars...so make sure you plan a special night out for afterwards!
